The last year i visited several Zoos in austria for animal photography together with Stefan, in Salzburg we have already some friends with whom we meet there and take pictures of the animals together. I also did some wildlife photography with Robert and Stefan the last year, i have to say wildlife is much mor thrilling because you feel like a hunter with your big Camera and the long lens. But i have to admin that taking pictures of animals that don't live in Austria in the nature is also very insteresting. Depending on the Zoo most of the animals are held in quite a good condition. Of course there are zoos where the conditions are terrible for the animals and i would never go there.

Deleting the Fence
For Zoo photography it is important to get with your lens through the glas or the Fence. You can archive this to get as close as possible to the fence and zoom maybe to the maximum of your lens then the focus is on the animal and the fence will completely dissapear. If you use a Camera or lens with only wide angle view you probably see the fence on your pictures later.
With a lens like my 150-600 mm it is pretty easy to get rid of the fence with simply zooming into the picture.
