Balanced Stones at the Falls (Original Photograph)

in photography •  6 years ago  (edited)

Howdy,

Last evening, I went to Triple Falls to see if there was anything to see. The water has almost receded back to pre-flood stages, leaving an impressive bit of sand at the mouth of this little stream. Someone had piled a few stones, which gavve me an idea for a #macromonday contribution.

Disassembling their smaller pile and hunting for more suitable stones, I constructed a taller one in front of one of the falls' larger torrents and did a little creative lighting with a flashlight. If I could have found a piece of chalk, I would have drawn an eye on the top block!

Congratulations, @fotosdenada. This shot got you the first place on today's #monomad Daily Picks. Thank You!

Thank you! :-)

I'm going to classify this one as a masterpiece. You are very talented. Wow, wow, wow. I love being able to click on your titles and expand the detail. Even the graffiti in the background adds an uber cool factor to this one!
Thanks for including the tech stuff! Did you use a remote to take the photo? I'm scratching my head wondering how you got the light angled and took the photo at the same time unless you had a remote??

Thanks! For this one I did, originally, try to use the remote, but the camera was low to the ground and I couldn't see whether it was taking or not. In the end, I opted for the 10-second timer. It was enough time to get the lighting right. With a five-second exposure, there's a little extra time to work the flashlight beam, so the timing didn't have to be too precise.

Enhorabuena por el concurso de monomad :)

¡Gracias! Acabo de entrar en Steem hoy y era una sorpresa :-D

Jajaj si, eso siempre alegra 😊👍

Wow this is amazing! I love the blurry background, all of it works so well!

Thanks!

Really neat idea. You do the coolest artsy photos.

Thank you :-)

nicely done brother, stacking stones is very difficult but supposed to foster patience and balance as I understand. Very creative and well executed!

Thanks. IT did take awhile to get the tower that high, but there was nobody around and the mosquitos were, apparently, after easier prey...

Very artistic @fotosdenada. This is a stunning photograph! 😊

Thank you!

@fotosdenada Amazing click
There are very fine details in this pic and your creativity with those marvels is really awesome.

Thanks!

The textures and contrasts are beautiful. Love the closeup details...b/w of this picture is simply astounding!

Thank you. The color version was nice, but monochrome really emphasizes the texture and form.
