Howdy!

I came across this gem while out driving a gravel road south of town. Every once in awhile, a farmer gets a creative with the decorating.

Why Walter No Longer Drives
How he cut the car in half is a bit of a mystery, but most farmers have welders around these parts. If it were my barn, I'd have painted the outside to look like it had crashed through, with a few hanging strips of that metal siding for effect.

It was nice to see the sun come out, even if it was just for a little while. Most of the day was overcast and gloomy so, when the clouds parted, I jumped in the Jeep to enjoy the view and get a little vitamin D.

That's definitely the most unique barn I've ever seen :D

Very innovative indeed @fotosdenada Why throw away a perfectly good half a car when it can create a nostalgic center piece like this? People get very attached to their cars and its difficult to see them go, but this farmer found the answer here.

Enjoy the sun while you can.

Or... Perhaps it's a trophy. Around these parts, hunters mount deer heads on theri walls all the time. Maybe this guy goes hunting for VW's!

Oh, too fun of a mental picture! I used to be a big fan of playing the slug buggy game (when you see an old VW you would yell slug buggy and hit the person next to you, if it was an old VW van you would yell double slug and hit the person next to you 2X...they were not allowed to hit back) As I said, I "used" to play...my husband and I were in oz land on a city transit bus and we connected fists (both saw the slug buggy at the same time). I of course howled, and the driver we had said with a big grin, "SIR, I hope you are ok?"lol

Ouch! Clever driver, though!

I came across another interesting "farm art," but there wasn't a good place to pull over. I had to take a quick snap out the window and it just didn't do it justice. This guy must have had a lot of time on his hands!

I didn't have time to change the settings on the camera, either, and the sky is blown out. It's a metal dragon, though, and has a huge metal insect behind it that's out of the frame.

Howdy sir fotosdenada! ha! I agree the farmer had a good idea but could have made it so much better with a custom paint job and some hanging debris.

Thanks. He could have cut around the siding so you could see in the barn too. You know, custom window!

yes sir he could have had an awesome piece of work there but maybe he didn't want to create that much interest! He'd have a real accident in front of his place.

Too funny! You can easily tell the farmers with a good sense of humor! We had some lovely sunshine today. It is a thing of beauty!

Here, too. Our "January Thaw" is supposed to last a week! Everything's muddy and sloppy, but I was outside without a coat today and perfectly comfortable. Sure beats that -20º we had this time last year!

Thats a barn you can't forget for sure I love the style of the owner and love this shot

Thanks! I definitely couldn't pass up that for a photo.

and I am glad to did get a shot and share it with us
