The day I took this photo was one of the last times I spent any time with my father who died last year. That is, with the version who still had a functioning brain rather than the drooling zombie he later became.

This photo is in a vertical 4x3 ratio. Sift666 would never have done a post with an image like that at the top. He also would never have done a post with only one photo.

The photo is not edited or filtered or anything - what you get is just what the camera saw. Sift666 would probably have buggered about with it doing freaky shit.

The hill is Colonial Knob, near Porirua in Wellington. On a good day you can see all the way north to Mt Egmont, and all the way down to the Kaikoura ranges in the South Island.

Sift666 would have included photos of both, and links, and a map, and the exact distances to both. And he would also have included a photo of his father and a description of the disease that killed him - Lewy Body Dementia. But he did a post about all that last year and @frot has no desire to go there again.

So that is all - now sift666 would have gone on about how we all end up like an old fence or some other philosophical shit, but maybe there is less to life, and we need to move on.
