3rd week of January, 2021
I just shifted to a house close to the hospital after finishing 10 days of quarantine. But after a few days the house owner asked me to vacant the house at the end of that month without any prior notice.
I was taken aback and thought to myself, "How could he do that?" At the very least, he should have informed me 15 days to 1 month in advance. I informed him of this in a message.
He said that he required the house for personal reasons. He is unable to extend the time. As per my request, he could only offer me 15 days. It was quite difficult to find a new flat in such a short amount of time which was closer to the hospital.
I was frustrated and had no idea where to look for a new home. On that island, I didn't know many people. I requested a few of my hospital employees to find a place to live.
The clock was ticking down, but there was no good house to move to. I was in a very difficult circumstance.
A colleague of mine offered me his home and stated that he would leave it for me.I didn't want to put him in a difficult position. So I assured him he didn't have to worry about me. I'll do my best to make it work.
Meanwhile, I discussed the situation with my hospital's manager and asked if he knew of any houses close. He claimed he didn't know and that he'd look for a place to live. He, on the other hand, failed miserably.
I didn't get a house as time passed. One of my hospital employees informed me one day that there was a house a short distance from the hospital.
I didn’t have much of a choice. So I decided to go and see the house. I talked to the owner of the house and settled to visit it.
It was an isolated house infront of a large open playground. Only a few houses stood in front of the playground, making the area serene.
As I didn’t have any other options left I made the decision to move into the residence on the specified day. On February 5, 2021, I moved into my new home.
I used to be a little scared when I first moved into the new house as the indoor looked quite weird to me. But, in order to maintain my positivity, I was disregarding all of my inner thoughts.
Even some of my hospital staff who visited my house used to ask me whether I was afraid of living alone in this house. I used to tell them that wasn't true!! However, at night, I was a little uneasy.
I responded by questioning a few of them. Why are you posing this question to me? Is there anything wrong with this place? They didn't respond to my question.
3rd week of February, 2021
I kept living there and started to cope up with the new place a little. One day at around 2 a.m. I heard a faint rumbling near my bedroom.
That day I had duty from 8 pm to 12 am. After coming back from the duty I decided to eat something. But I didn't eat anything as I was extremely tired.
I was a little frightened when I heard the sound. But I reminded myself that it could be the wind, a rat, or a cat. The sound was repeated and became more noticeable over time. It made me worried.
At around 3 a.m. I heard a loud noise on my roof. It was a forceful effort to break my roof. I had the impression that someone was going to shatter it and break into my bedroom right away. I became terribly terrified.
I was at a loss on what to do at the time. I dashed into the sitting room from my bedroom. Thankfully, I had brought my phone with me.
I was about to go out of the room but then thought what if someone is outside and do any harm to me. So I stayed in the sitting room but I couldn't decide what to do at the time. I had no choice but to call the police because I was new to the island and had no friends or relatives there.
But that number was invalid. I was so shocked. Unfortunately my phone charge was only 3-4%. I didn't know who to call. Then I saw a number of one of my hospital staff who used to live in my neighborhood and we just met a few days prior to that incident.
So I called and told that what's happening here. That staff told me "Don't worry. I am going through call police." After 7-10 minutes police came.
Later on I came to know that the person who attacked my house was a drug addict, thief and robber and he has a long term enmity with the house owner. He harrassed the residents of that house many times in the past.
Well, it wasn't a ghost story, but humans may be far worse than ghosts at times. I had an extremely bad experience at that house, so I moved to a different one after that.
I know that wasn't a ghost story but with a minor change at the end, it could have been.
