Risked severe itching for these pics. Have a little problem with poison oak on one corner of the property. Really need to tear it out but not looking forward to getting it. Anyway did get these pics of the small purple flowers on it.

It is admirable that you go to this much trouble (risking poison ivy!!) to cover these humble flowers. Shows how close to nature you are and your spirit as a photographer. Salute. Upvoted

I would be honored if you see some of my blogs posted today / yesterday and provide your valuable comments.

Lucky for me I don't get poison oak or poison Ivy. I don,t know why. But my kids do. Thanks for posting the pics because my kids do know what poison Ivy looks like but they do not know what poison oak does...Thanks again..:)

I never did either until about 2 years ago. Even used to just pull it with my bare hands. Haven't got it since but I guess once you get it you get it easier.

It's sounds crazy. I just pulled it out to make a compost pile the other morning and nothing. I must have ate it as a kid...lol

Never seen those before .. what country are they found it

US. I guess the flowers are different depending on the type of poison oak and where you live.

thanks.. they may have a different name in the uk

There are different types of Poison Oak.
I haven't seen one yet!
Also I don't want to :P I don't want any rashes!

Beautiful flowers!

We have that crap here, too. Along with several other irritating plants. It's best to wait until winter when it is dormant, then burn it off or whatever you want to do. Just don't breathe the smoke! It gets in your lungs and can send you to the hospital.

I would wait until winter but it's right on the corner where there will be a school bus stop in the fall. Probably get someone with one of those full body coveralls to pull it for a few bucks.

Before diving into the poison oak, pick up some Tecnu Skin Cleanser. I put it on before I start cleaning up the poison ivy and let it dry. Then wash up with it after I'm done. I've had significantly fewer breakouts. Hardly any at all if I'm thorough.

I used to just wash my hands with regular dish soap. It breaks down the oil that causes the rash. Apparently I finally developed an allergy to it though. Funny thing was I am allergic to just about everything that grows but poison ivy/oak never bothered me. Maybe I had a cut or something that it got into.
