Tikal is located in the depths of the jungle, approx. 550 km from the capital of Guatemala, the city of the Maya. Today it is in ruins, but probably Tikal was once the capital of the Maya state. It was inhabited between the 6th century BC. and X century, e. The resort consists of temples, palaces and public squares. The most famous of these are the temples I - also called the Temple of the Great Jaguar, located on the step pyramid, II and IV - the highest (65 m) Temple of the Two-headed Serpent.
