Hi my dear Friends... Here I am today with a very rare fruit called Wild - Jackfruit.
You all might have heard about Jackfruit. But - This one is from the same family of trees, but a bit wild in quality and is found mainly in the forests in our neighborhood!!
The fruit has got a sour taste and is mostly liked by birds!! There are fruit bulbs or kernels with a seed inside just like they are in the jackfruit.... We used to like and eat it in our childhood days. But am sure - today's children will not like it...;)
The tree is useful for making furniture, and also has got a durable quality...
So here are some pictures of the tree...

As we are staying in the Hospital, it is becoming difficult for me to find some good stuff for my blogs. So my husband took these pics of a nearby tree, from his smartphone Samsung and somehow he managed to get one fruit also for my today's post!!

These wild jackfruits looks spiny but it taste as good as its golden appearance and i really appreciate the efforts taken by uncle in order to capture wonderful pics and a fruit too....

I like jackfruit as a vegetable. However, in South India, this fruit is treated as fruit. Ripe jackfruit tastes sweet but you wrote that wild jackfruit tastes sour. Why this happens that wild jackfruit doesn't taste sweet?

Hi @akdx... Yes, as you said ripe jackfruit tastes very good and is sweet. This one naturally has a sweet and sour taste,when we used to eat it in my childhood. But yesterday, though the color looked so good and tempting, it was so much sour in taste just like a row Mango.!! Don't know why.... :)

नमस्कार गीता जी। Sometimes nature plays mysteriously. I think other factors viz pollution, lack of proper nutrition in soil, use of pesticides etc may be the reason of turning that jack fruit sour. Or perhaps, it may be the reason that this fruit had changed to a different gene.
