A few days ago, the original photo of Albert Einstein with his autograph was sold at an auction for $125,000. The photo was taken on March 14, 1951, after the celebration party for his 72nd birthday. Photographer Arthur Sass asked Einstein to smile, but he, as usual, did everything his own way. In this way, one of the most famous shots with the great physicist was created.
Albert really liked this photo—he ordered 9 copies for personal use, and on several of them left an autograph. One of the pictures was sold in 2009 for $74,324 and was considered at the time the most expensive photo with Einstein.
So, if you also study theoretical physics and plan to get a Nobel Prize, better sign a few of your photos, just in case.
