Glengarrisdale Bothy - A Call of the Wild

View Through A Bothy Window

I love how the view through this window looks a bit like a water colour painting. It shows a beach on the West Coast of Jura, Scotland, looking through the Glengarrisdale Bothy.

So what's a bothy I hear you cry. Well they're every real outdoorsy person's dream.

The official website explains it best. They are small buildings managed by the . . .

Mountain Bothies Association whose purpose is to maintain simple shelters in remote country for the use & benefit of all who love wild and lonely places.
A recipient of the Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service, the Mountain Bothies Association is a charity which maintains about 100 shelters in some of the remoter parts of Great Britain.
With the permission and support of the owners, these shelters are unlocked and are available for anyone to use. All of our maintenance activities are carried out by volunteers.

Awww... With a view like that, one would sooner be outside... even if just sitting on the porch (if bothies had porches...)

No need for a porch You can just hand out on your camping mat!
