The land of coconuts - Kerala.

in photography •  7 years ago

Kerala is also known as the land of coconuts due to the presence of a large number of coconut trees. Kerala was originally called Keralam which is derived from the words kera (coconut tree) and alam (land). You could spot atleast one coconut tree in Kerala, irrespective of where you are. Coconuts also contribute a lot to the agricultural sectors in Kerala.

Indeed..But when you come to highrange it is rather a land of spices..I have never been to any other parts of Kerala except Idukki,Kottayam and Ernakulam..In our area(Idukki),a site of coconut tree is a rare phenomenon.

But when I was in Wayanad, I still saw many of them. And yes, Kerala is the land of spices too! :)
