CHOCOLATE GANACHE & KAHLÚA SANDWICH COOKIES with HOMEMADE MARSHMALLOWS - Food Photo Shoot

in photography •  8 years ago

Happy Wednesday to all you Steemians!!

Ok, I have done 3 savory dishes in a row and it's been like forever (only 4 days) since I posted any chocolate.

So, for all you chocoholics, here's your fix!

Side Note: For any of you who have followed me for long, you know that every once and while, I threaten to do a post with little or no words. I've never done it, but I always say, "some day I am going to." Well, obviously this isn't that day, but I would like your thoughts on that. In my steemit experience, I have found that my posts where I get all wordy, they don't do as well. Most people come here to see my photos (which is perfectly awesome with me). They don't come to read my deep wisdom. So anyway, I'd love to hear what you think.

Ok, some chocolate action here, and we got some boose to go with it, sounds like a perfect combo to me.

So these cookies really aren’t that big, or difficult for that matter to make. The cookies are actually about as simple as you can get. And the ganache takes all of 5 minutes, for real. The only part that might be a little tricky for some of you is the marshmallows. If you aren’t familiar with candy making, don’t fear them. I know you can do it and they really aren’t a big deal. You will be thrilled with the fact that you know what you're eating, instead of what you buy in the store. give it a try, you'll thank me later.

As always, the RECIPE is available upon request. First request gets an upvote.

These look amazing! I'd definitely love the recipe!

Already posted above, hard to tell who was first, but I am giving you an upvote also, thanks so much @crystalandbones

I don't think I was first. I just really want the recipe lol Thanks love!

Question about the marshmallows.. does the cooking evaporate out all the alcohol? I'm just curious if it's safe for kids. 😂

Yes, unfortunately, the cooking evaporates the alcohol - LOL Seriously though, all your left with is the flavor of the Kalua and no residual alcohol taste

That's what I thought. Doesn't mean they can't be served with shots on the side. Adults only of course! Lol

4 days without a chocolate post is like a chocolate fast for you and those of us reading your stuff hahaha!

It is true what you said in here about making your own stuff so you know what is in it and it being better for you.

I would like to point out again, that these nice flat things you make sometimes, pack fairly flat and make it easy to ship to your friends.

Just saying.

(:

Have a nice week sister.

Wow, I have said it before, but I'll say it again, you are persistant for sure! Thanks so much @barrydutton and I am so glad I was here to break your fast

My 3 in 1 milestone post went up a few hours ago, I was hungry and your chocolate obsession helps a lot of us hahahaha!!!

Where are you these days??? We never know with you lol

I am in North Idaho, Sandpoint to be specific. Looks like I might be here for a bit

@amy-goodrich on my snack-food post just posted something on my post there, I just tagged you a min. ago on it with some avacado - chocl. mousse thing you need to read LOL.

Just go to my comments tab and look for my comment with her on my " I can haz healthy food" type post!

Thanks @barrydutton. Sure would be awesome if there was a mention tab so we could keep up with who is trying to tag us.

Ok, so you want me to make you chocolate mousse with avacado?

No, I just thought you would appreciate that idea - avacado is healthy and can be used in so many ways!

It reminded me of you.

Sorry I was getting my latest Offgrid / Bushcraft post ready and posted there.

  • yes, the mentions thing is overdue now here for sure.

How did you survive 4 whole days without chocolate? Seriously I want to know, I can't do it. I have to have even just a little piece of chocolate or I get grumpy. Its my happy food, when I want it don't stand in the way or someone might get hurt. :D LOL.

Okay I'm really not that bad, but close. :D

Great pictures of delicious looking treats. Thanks for sharing the recipe. :D

It's a great idea to take pictures of the baking process itself. The sequence and dynamics of development are felt, as well as the direct participation of the reader.

Your commentary is where it's at @gringalicious, and your pictures just complement it and very well I might add. Your posts are great as is, if you only did photos, I'm taking my toys and I'm going home! :) And homemade marshmallows sound pretty freaking awesome, I've never tried those!

Yeah, the marshmallows are great when they are homemade. My family loves them. Thanks for the kinds words about my posts @sandstorm
