I was taking photos at sunset a few weeks ago in southern Nicaragua. I've always been fascinated by the way pelicans fly so low and fast above the water. I think if you've seen them you know what I mean.
I thought I was lucky enough to have a group of pelicans surfing waves as the sun was going down. It's so cool how they ride it and then all pull up at once. As the shutter fired I thought I saw some strange blip in the viewfinder but didn't think much of it. I figured some of the big rocks just poked out as the waves shifted. I had no idea how lucky I was until I pulled up the photos a few weeks later (today).
Apparently at just the perfect moment what I believe to be a dolphin decided to breech and make for a magnificent photo. Zooming in you can see the pelicans are all looking at it!
Anybody who can identify it certainly? Enjoy :)
