This is second post about our trip to Vancouver Island. We stayed in Parksville BC which is on the east side of the island 1/2 hour north of Nanaimo.
Exploring downtown Nanaimo, we lucked out just looking for a washroom. The Library was open and we found this native "Nanaimoian" who was an active participant of Geek Con Nanaimo.
It was a great way to spend an hour.
This was the first time I had ever been to an event like this so it was a learning experience. There were many people in costume. Very enthusiastic and not shy at all. What I did learn is that these folks love to have their picture taken. I learned this about half way thru our visit so I went back to the tables & costumes I missed so not to be rude.
I would like to thank all of the Geeks for their time and efforts. You made our visit to Nanaimo a time to remember.
I thought she looked like Little Bopeep but when questioned she insisted she was Mary Popins. Great costume who every she wants to be.
We found our favorite super heroes so we felt safe.
We found these to sea dogs. They were with some nautical role playing community/game as I remember.
Can't remember the name of this group but they were eager to pose.
Almost did not include this little hero because of bad focus but the cute factor won out.
Here are two beauties I went back to capture.
I really liked this hand made costume, Great Work! The back of the costume was great unfortunately my photography was not.
This wins the funny expression category.
I'll close with everyone's favorite, "who ya gonna call".
