In today’s society children spend so much time behind a screen they hardly experience nature. This rang true sitting outside with Samantha Schmidt's toddler. She realized we need more afternoons like today, just sitting under the trees. Everything was a new experience. Eyes wide with wonder she asked about every bird or plane that she saw. We talked about all the sounds and the breeze. We connected on a deeper level. Nature truly does open new doors.
