It's been six months ago since I made my second little garden and eventhough I trim my artillery fern a few times since then, it's been all over the place in its little place. It's time for trimming.
Artillery fern
Most of the previous months the indoor plant was untouched although I have been wanting to trim it. But as I want to save the cuttings to try and propagate them, I keep on proscastinating. I had tried a few times unsuccessfully. And aside from that, I'm unexperienced when it comes to trimming. At first I thought it's just cutting whatever part of the plant you want but now I think it's more than that. It's about wanting on how you want the plant to branch out as well. Correct me if I'm wrong as I'm no expert.
How the fern looks like before trimming
As much as I want it to resemble a tree-like apperance, it isn't close to that as I let the plant to branch out on every direction. The weight is heavy as well for some branch to suppport itself in an upright position.
Trimming
I planned to keep trying on propagating another plant so I set aside the cuttings with the hope to successfully have a new plant.
Cuttings of artillery fern
Photo above after working on some of its branches cutting out what I think needs to be cut out that will affect on how this would branch out. Somehow wondering if I should have done more and what branch I should work on if it isn't enough. For that it's more likely wait and see and do more as needed.
The look from above
Done for now with a cutting of my choice to propagate. I read it has or needs to be put in a ziplock bag. How true is that? I don't know either but this is a way I haven't done before with my unsuccessful attempts.
