Hi @Harleymechanix
I haven't seen your profile before now. I am a Harley rider from Norway that just love Harley Davidson. So looking forward to follow your post from now on.
What kind of bike do you drive? I myself drive a 2017 Softail SlimS, a lovely bike.
Next time me and my wife goes on holiday to the US we are planing to drive rout 66.
Have a great weekend!!!

Kindest regards
@Gyldenhorn

Wow badass man. I'm part Viking supposedly. My beard is anyway. Thanks for checking out my blog.

I ride an 88 RoadKing right now. Also have a 2000 FXDX and a Buell XB12 thats not running right now.

The RoadKing is a great bike also. Have been looking at the 2018 modell, but are sticking to my Softail for now.

There were a lot of Norwegians that moved to the US from the 17 and 18th century so there are a lot of people living in USA that can be tracked back to Norway. So if you feel a bit viking it is a high possibility that you are one :) And as you say, you have the beard to be one!!

Norway is a great country, but I think the winter can last a bit to much. So, my family are seeking a warmer climate and have been thinking about moving to one of the southern stats in USA.
We spend our holiday for two years ago in Florida and just loved it. We also have been thinking to go on a round trip in Texas to see how it is like there. My youngest girl wants to study in the US so she has asked if we can't buy a ranch in Texas so she can rid here horses there while she is studying.
So maybe we are coming over in a couple of years :)

Cheers from Norway!!!

Funny story.
My dad is mostly Italian. My mom mostly Irish (we thought). Two years ago my dad bought a DNA genealogy test for her birthday. My moms maiden name is McCarty. But she is 5'10" tall for an Irish woman. So the results come back she is 40% Scandinavian. We know a lot of the Norse came to Ireland and "contributed" to the gene pool. So its entirely likely to have an Irish surname with Viking genes.

Thats my story and I'm sticking to it.

You would love Texas. We have the best country, people and food in the south. I live in a German town on the edge of the Texas Hill Country. There are two rivers that come through our town and a huge lake just outside. People come from all over the nation to vacation here. There is a large thriving biker community here and you can ride year round. Some of the best riding in the State is in the Hill Country.

If you come on holiday let me know and I'll show you around.

If your mother are from Ireland it is highly possible that she has Norwegian genes since Norwegian vikings almost totally took over Ireland in the 900th century. In fact they found a lot of the cities in Ireland and the capitol, Dublin, is one of them. But as the time went by the vikings was integrated in the society and became Irelanders them selfs.

I love the american cousin, alt that bbq is so good. And you defiantly know your steaks.
I am definitely ready for the tubes, seems like fun. Maybe a bit similar to to rafting as we have in some rivers here in Norway. But this seems more calmer :)
I think Texas would be right up my ally of what I like about the US. As you said in a earlier comment, bigger is better and in Texas it`s the biggest.
Maybe we should go there and rent bikes for a week or two before we do rout 66 and maybe I take you up on let you show us around.
I belive you have warm weather most of the year and that is what I am looking for. Going to be able to ride the bike all year would have been great.
Have been looking at pictures form Hill Country and it looks breath taking. Seems like you are living in a really nice place.

If you are planing a trip to Norway you have to let me know and I can guide yo around :)

Nice theme, 24/7 on he beach.

Dang, that's a beauty.

There were some really rad choppers at that show. I will be putting out more pics in the coming weeks. Thanks for the comment and upvote!
