It was late afternoon after the suffocating heat of the day, a storm rolled in over the hill, big threatening powerful grey, nah black clouds.
You are confined to your balcony, staring at the rain pouring off the lush tropical trees.
You can smell it, sweat mixed with smoke, mixed with warm rain.
Of all people to enter your head it’s her, a girl you have never met, a girl you only know through carefully selected vignettes.
It was the rain that did it, the rain tumbling on the nearby beach. Suddenly you think, if she was here she would grab you by the hand and march you into the storm. You can almost picture it, you have no idea what she looks like but somehow you know how it would feel.
You know what you have to do, you have to leave, you have to march off into the raging storm, you have to join her.
