Barn Hollow Natural Area, Missouri, Nov '16

Established in 1980, Barn Hollow Natural Area, is beautiful any time of year and has a very nice walking trail that ends at a scenic overlook. Unfortunately, a few years ago someone burned down the platform you stand on to overlook the hollow.

Barn Hollow is 190 acres and is located in Texas County.

I believe this is some sort of oak gall.

Different spider, having some lunch.

Emma Jane, Chico Rico, and Willie Nelson are excellent hiking dogs. They stay right by my side and never chase the critters they see. You should see them in my kayak!

If you hike beyond the look out point, and down into the valley, this little tributary for the Jacks Fork River can be seen. It has tiny waterfalls and is perfect for taking portraits.

This ia the shelf of rock that creates a 2-3 foot trickling waterfall.

This is the view beneath the rock shelf.

Lots of Liverwort and Hornwort. I love finding this.

More Liverwort.

Finally, a good sized frog. He was patient enough for me to snap this photo.

So that'sBarn Hollow Natural Area! Hope you enjoyed the pics. They were all taken with my Samsung camera.
