She was bought by my sister as a small puppy of 6.5 weeks. She was the last remaining puppy in a litter from real working dogs. Myla was last stayed behind because her character was too soft for that branch of sport. Lucky for her ... and happy for my sister. But already with six and a half weeks Myla turned out to be a small go-getter. Already the first day she climbed up the stairs on her own, to sleep like a little princess at the top of my sister's bed. As small as she was, she had one rule. What Myla wants, Myla will accomplish. And she wanted to play! Play a lot. My sister, not even used to little Malinois, was shocked by her ferocity.
What we didn't know at that time was that my sister was dealing with mild rheumatism in her arms. But now another story started. Little Myla Mouse needed training! And challenge! Because a Malinois from lines of work wants only one thing. To work! So something had to be arranged ... and that's where I got on. Although my sister loved Myla very much, she simply couldn't handle her. And Myla was doing just what Myla wants ... if we didn't do anything with her, she'd become a little terror dog. And that's not what we want. We also wouldn't give up on her. She was too sweet. So I started training with her. And where I previously played with her and walked, she suddenly had to work, and work very hard. Not only she, but me too!
I can say that Myla cost me blood, sweat and tears, and there are many moments that I was thinking I would never make it. But in the end the hard work did pay off. Myla and I have a bond together! Although quite different from my relationship with Rowan, but my stubborn, sweet little Malinois Princess, is a very important part of my life. And I would not want to miss her.
Myla is sweet! Myla is faithful! Myla is happy and Myla is very social! Of all four shepherds here in my house, my little mouse is the most social dog we have. She is also a pack leader. And if she does not like something, she clearly shows that. But she does not abuse anything, and the other dogs can go very far with her. She loves Lex, and will always take care of him, and she stops Rowan if he gets too wild. She plays with Lana and she arranges a lot. But she always listens to me, looks at me for confirmation and works well with me.
Like her, there is no second. We have come a long way after the intensive training period, often I have thought that it would never work and Myla was just a size too big for me. But we never gave up on each other, and now ... now we are a TEAM. Me & my little sweet cheerful Myla Mouse.
