A little step may be the beginning of a great journey

And the little steps I am taking now are leading me towards a big journey I can feel it and I am totally ready for the journey to begin.
That doesn't mean that I did nothing.
As you may have noticed I haven't been really active for a while now. Since I fainted in the forest I have taken better care of myself. But that doesn't mean that I did nothing. On the contrary. I was busy with getting myself back on the market as a photographer.
For a few years ago I did regular photo assignments, but then I noticed that the equipment I had, and still has, was no longer the best then. Many hobby photographers walk around with better equipment, and that was not the worst. In the kind of photography that I did, the competition is fierce. And in addition there are a huge number of hobbyists who do free shoots.
The economy was very bad in the Netherlands at the time, and many people had to cut back considerably. The assignments became less and more and more people chose to have their dogs photographed by such a hobbyist who did it for free in exchange for portfolio photos.
That in combination with the fact that I no longer had the latest camera in terms of equipment, and the fact that I lost my job, which meant that I too had to cut back a lot, had to sell the car and therefore no longer had the possibility to go anywhere. go for photo assignments. All in all, it meant that I got fewer and fewer assignments, and that in the end it just came to a halt.
Recently, however, I noticed that I saw more people asking for a photographer, in the area where I was active, but also in other branches I see more demand for a photographer popping up. And it started to itch again with me.
I can take pictures, damn it!
What the fuck ... that I no longer have the latest equipment is a fact. But if I ever want to be able to buy new equipment again, and believe me, I want nothing more than that. Then I'll have to start throwing myself back into the market as a photographer. I can still take photos with my equipment that is no longer new. My camera has fortunately not failed ... And I have knowledge of photography! I can take pictures, damn it.
So in the last few weeks after I came back from the hospital, I took it easy with stress myself for another blog, but I was working on a return as a photographer. And today I can breathe with relief. Apparently there are still people who remember my name. And this morning I managed to get 2 photo assignments.
An impending event that will take place here this year in the area. And another is the kind photography that I am all too familiar with. A dog sport / flyball event.
These steps may seem very unimportant to many, but someone who knows me better can say that this has been a considerable self-victory.
Due to the circumstances I have lived very isolated in recent years, and the step to be back with people is not that big, but to immediately put myself back in the spotlight, yes that step was big. I am a perfectionist, and what I do must be more than 100%. The fear of failing in my photography is present and that is what I have been fighting all the time.
But I have decided to go for it now because it is a feeling of "It's NOW or NEVER", and I know it will be NOW. Never is not an option. I'm just going to do this! And then from here I see where my journey will take me.
But this is a new beginning.
