Yes, you are right. For me was a daily trip because I live in Berne, which is only 1 hour away from Basel.
If you are in Basel again, would prefer to go over the boarder (France or Germany is very close) and look there for a nice hotel (not so expensive) :)
I like to travel in switzerland. We are always looking for nice places in the world and we forget that we all living in wonderful countries, so we shouldn't has to travel far and we always has a time for a "daytrip".
