The Most Special Photo: A single Atom was Photographed by Nadlinger

in photography •  7 years ago

Physicist David Nadlinger has the photograph of the year. Nadlinger photographed a single atom with the Canon 5D Mark II

David Nadlinger the physicist at Oxford  University  took one of the most unusual  photographs ever and awarded as the Science Photography of year by  British Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council.  He succeeded to imaging only 1 atom named "One Atom in Ion Leaf ".

He  set up an  ultra-high vacuum trap room for shooting, and placed only the Canon 5D Mark  II DSLR camera in this area with  Canon 50mm f / 1.8 lens.

The atom that illuminated by the blue and purple laser sucked the light particles first and then re-melted.

The small hole in the middle of electrots is a single Atom.

This moment was one of the most special frames of world history.

Thank you Dr. Nadlinger
