Last weekend I left Moscow and arrived back at my hometown in Scotland for a few weeks. I live in Duddingston, a former village suburb dating back to 1093 - it has since been swallowed up by Edinburgh’s expansion. It lays on the edge of Holyrood Royal Park, a 700-hundred-acre playground which features a dormant volcano, natural lochs and coconut-scented yellow Gorse cliffs. I feel so lucky to come from such a green place and yet remain so close to Edinburgh’s heart.
