The crystal clear waters of The Kidney

The Seven Rila Lakes are a natural phenomenon in the northwestern Rila Mountains in Bulgaria. They are glecial lakes located at elevation between 2100 and 2500 m above the sea level.

The lakes are named after the different shapes they resemble - The eye, The kidney, The trefoil, The tear, The twin, The fish lake and the lowest one is called The lower lake, of course.

It is one of the most fasinating natural attraction not only in Bulgaria but also on the Balkan Peninsula, so next time you are somewhere in the area don't miss it and put it on you travel bucket list!
