Salar de Uyuni located in the Andes mountains in southwest Bolivia is the largest salt flat in the world spanning nearly 11000 sq km. It’s the legacy of a prehistoric lake that went dry which left behind a desertlike landscape of bright-white salt, rock formations and cacti-studded islands.
