The Last in Line of Totality: Eclipse 2017 from Charleston

in photography •  7 years ago

I am blessed to live in Charleston, SC. A beautiful historic city and seaside town. Today I got to experience my first total eclipse. I was lucky enough that Charleston was the last city in the line of totality. I was skeptical about the eclipse at first. It's all the news channels have been talking about. I didn't buy the glasses, but didn't stare directly at the eclipse for any long period of time prior to totality or after totality. Watching the city go black was amazing. The eclipse started around 2:47 PM EST and lasted a little over two minutes. We had tons of cloud cover prior to the eclipse, with rain fast approaching. We weren't exactly sure if we would be able to see it with all the cloud cover. As soon as we hit totality the clouds parted long enough for us to see it. It was AMAZING. Here are some of my shots (unedited).fullsizeoutput_192b.jpeg

Just followed you so I can stay on top of your crypto articles. Cool stuff you've posted in the past, you should check out some of my alt coin reviews I've posted on STEEM recently too. I think you'll dig them.

That's really cool. I was fortune enough to see the eclipse in Greenville, SC this afternoon. It was really something special.

Charleston must have been really wild with all the tourists over the weekend. I bet you're happy that your city will go back to normal tomorrow.

Awesome pictures, keep putting out great posts like these. :)

I'm impressed!

nice! We had some decent weather in Greenville. There was a handful of clouds in the sky up until the last minutes of the eclipse and it cleared out!

I never thought seeing this in person would be as awesome as it was. Glad I took the time to check it out.

Thanks for sharing!

Wow that's awesome. Great shots you were lucky indeed.

Thanks! Crazy to see darkness at 2pm.

Great. Thanks you for your photographies.

Thanks!

Why the Sun and moon was moving west to east not East to West?
