A walk around San Francisco

San Francisco is a timeless place.

Walking through the forests of Muir Woods, you experience the religious awe John Muir and others experienced when walking amongst the giants. Strolling down the Haight-Ashbury, we can almost still hear the sounds of the Grateful Dead, Jimi Hendrix, or Janis Joplin bursting out of the old Victorians. Driving through San Jose, it is impossible to ignore the world created by the pioneers of Silicon Valley, and the groundbreaking technological change they brought us. Even spending a small amount of time in San Francisco, you will find yourself thinking differently, opening yourself up to endless possibilities for the future.

It is impossible to walk the many neighborhoods populating the bay area without feeling intimately tied to those who spent their lives creating change. Over the last century and a half, the region has fostered such a strong culture of social change, entrepreneurship, and creative thinking. From technology, to conservation/environmentalism, to progressivism: the city has been propelling the country into the future.

A couple months ago, I had the opportunity to spend some time walking around the city with my sister and use her as a model to help highlight the great beauty I find in San Francisco. This album is a exercise in model photography, the city is simply a backdrop. These shots were taken on 35mm Kodak Gold 400. I want to hear what you think!

Couple bonus shots of the city:

Nice work! Like the edits. xx

Thank you :) no edits, just scans of my negatives!

Film!?!

Seriously gorgeous.

Yup! These are all shot on Kodak's cheapo pharmacy stuff. I adore how film picks up on tones and colors in such an organic way, really gets you close to the scene.

Awesome. Love it.

Thank you! And I appreciate the resteem! Excited to have made my first friend here :D
