City style - The City Theory

What makes a city style? What is the city vibe? What do you feel seeing this photo? Well, I guess this feeling is the answer to the first two questions! This is a photo from downtown Athens - Greece. I took this photo a few years ago and the ambiance is still the same today. Athens doesn't change its image easily for many reasons. Also, in my opinion, which is a subjective consideration of the city aspect,Athens is not that beautiful as other European capitals but Athens has spirituality and mystery! As a visitor, you are on the borders of the East and Ouest. You are visiting the last frontier before Asia and you are in the first entry in the Ouest cultural universe. Thus you can appreciate all kind of cultural contrast and different mentalities! During summer Athens is nicer, people is constantly out, streets are full of tourists and the nights are of the kind you ll never forget! So this summer coming don't forget to visit! You ll be welcome for sure! And don't forget to taste the Greek specialties in the little taverns and restaurants downtown, you ll be amazed!!! I must say that this photo is not representative of the ambiance I describe above but it's a good picture of the architectural style of the center city! What else to say? Welcome to Athens!!!
