Eclipse, 2017

Here's what we got today. The peak of the eclipse for us was at 10:17 AM. At the peak, we had about 80% of the sun blocked. It never actually got that dark, but it was still quite noticeable.

So, not much to look at here. Just a bright spot, but the phone is looking through the glasses. Couldn't even focus correctly.

Here, we're looking at the shadows cast on the street. It's interesting because the shadows are crescent-shaped.

I think these last three are a little more interesting. The light is being blocked by a sand strainer toy, showing the crescents again.

To see crescent-shaped shadow was a surprise. Did not imagine before that in eclipse shadows would take some forms.

Looking great @inertia! :) It is quite sad that we did not had this in Germany :'(.

I took a picture of the eclipse too.

Nice photograph is it safe to use those to see eclipse.

Very cool. Hate you didn't make it to totality. Thats like going to the concert but not entering the big show.

Great post, I like seeing how other people experienced this. I was in the Lincoln, Nebraska area but the clouds prevented us from seeing it during totality, that was a bit disappointing. We did have good views before & after totality & had it occurred just an hour or so later, the clouds cleared out by then.

Incredible Eclipse . 😎
Unfortunately it was not all over the place so I not got to see it.

Waao that's beautiful :)

Awesome pics. I as able to take some great pictures as well because there was a considerable amount of cloud cover, allowing my kids and I to view it with the naked eye!

Shame it was too cloudy to even see the sun here in the UK, but it was only a slight eclipse anyway. It's a cool thing to see and most of us don't get many opportunities

Great moments captured.....

Those crescent shadows are very cool!

In the UK we got 100% of the sun blocked by cloud. Expecting the same again tomorrow!

Nice use of the kids toy. I used a Triscut box with tin foil
