My trip to Georgia!! #3

On the second day of our trip around Georgia, we went to Mtskheta.

The first stop was the monastery of Jvari, it is located near Mtskheta on the top of the mountain, from where you can see a beautiful view of the confluence of the rivers Kura and Aragvi, and the city. According to legend, the Saint Nino, walking through Georgia with a sermon, put a cross here. On the site of the cross was built a monastery Jvari.

It is peaceful and quiet in the monastery ther isn't a single hint of modernity, as if you traveling to the past. Feels the antiquity and energy of this place. The Jvari Monastery is worth a visit, here you are imbued with the culture of Georgia. Walking through such ancient places, realize how many events happened here, how many people visited this place, how many was inspired by this place.

Walking around the neighborhood, we went to the city, to the Samtavro monastery. This is a more lively place with a modest architecture. In Georgia, much attention is paid to the monasteries and churches. These places are visited by lots of tourists, but in spite of this there is a sense of time, something elusive and warm.

There is a small market not far from the monastery. Of course we could not pass him by.) There are a lot of souvenir products on the market - magnets, jewelry, handbags, carpets and so on. For lovers of national cuisine there are tents where sold churchkhela, different sweets, spices and of course Chacha! This place is mainly designed for tourists, so the prices here are rather big.

In general, Mecheta is rather a quiet and calm city, there is no fuss and it seems that time not in a hurry. A great place to relax, take a walk and enjoy beautiful views :)
