This year is going fast, and in Berlin we can already hear the words of Ned Stark in the distance...
I was away for a few days and came back facing a shocking state of writer's block. I wanted to circumvent this as I don't like leaving big gaps without posting anything on Steemit, but at the same time I don't like posting complete garbage, so I needed to find a compromise; and this is what I came up with:
Autumn is my favorite season of the year, and even more so since I moved to Berlin. Throughout my years living here, I have made quite a collection of shots capturing my favorite moments in the city, dressed in such fantastic, vibrant colors during the autumnal months.
Here is a selection of some of said captures to commemorate this time of rapid change in the year, a little window into the views that have filled my eyes during the past years. I hope you enjoy them!
A view of Plötzensee, during one of my morning runs.
Karma Kameleon folliage (red, golden, green) glowing with sunshine.
The colorful confetti left on hidden paths...
Where Prenzlauer Berg meets Mitte: Corner near Senefelderplatz.
Beautiful pink and coral shades, my personal favorites.
One of my favorite autumnal events: art week in Berlin. Here a picture of the Berliner Liste, an art fair held at Kraftwerk, and old electricity plant repurposed as an art and conference venue.
Little fellows outside Johan Potma's studio in Schönleinstrasse,
The view from what used to be my favorite coffee place in Berlin (now closed): Antipodes coffee in Fehrbelliner Str.
I have always felt like early Autumn offers the most intense multicolored sunsets. Train platform at Schönhauser Allee (you can see the TV Tower, a landmark of Berlin, in the background!).
The vanilla sky reflected on the surface of the Plötzensee.
Peaceful sunny afternoon at Reheberge park.
Wet tiles and a colorful explosion at Virchow Clinic.
Fields of gold at Virchow clinic.
Back to regular programming soon... meanwhile have a terrific week!
Cheers,
Irime
some beautiful photos , some of the colours are very similar to what you would see here in Dublin city this time of year as the autumn colours contrast with the grey concrete of the city scape .
[Pss really loved your piece on the best part of BJJ ]

@ogmattyc That's right, some grey parts of the city really come alive with the autumn colors... now almost all the leaves have fallen, though.
Thanks for the feedback! I just saw that you have some good content on BJJ as well! Followed :-) Great to see the community growing.

There's no seasons where I live, so I'm experiencing technicolor vicariously through this post!

For me it is also relatively new. In Mexico, the seasons I experienced were mostly mild weather>crazily hot> lots of rain>cold-ish and then the cycle restarted. We didn't have very noticeable changes in foliage either.
Thanks for stopping by!

Ah, I miss Berlin. Funny looking through your photos and recognising places. I used to hang out with Johan on the Boximarkt where we sold our artwork.

Haha, it's like in Berlin this "six degrees of separation" theory is more like two... I actually met Johan at the Boxhagener Fleamartket, and after that I would sometimes stop by his studio in Schönleinstrasse and have a quick chat with him if he wasn't busy. He is indeed a very friendly guy who enjoys sharing his creative process as well. Also, the quirky decoration of the studio always felt welcoming and very pleasing to my inner child :-)

You must have Mateo also then.
Yes, there is innocent time and place their artwork appeals to, the Saturday morning cartoons, Dr Zeuss... the weird and wonderful.
BTW, you wrote about your favourite coffee shop in Berlin. I would like to tempt you to another caffeine portal, which I consider the best in Berlin, Passenger Espresso, just off Schliesscher Tor, Oppelner str. 45, Kreuzberg. It's run by my friends Garth and Jan. Garth also started on Boxi with his artwork, but then switched to the coffee trade. Their coffee is legendary. =)
