- A day in the Dune Field - from sunrise to sunset

in photography •  8 years ago  (edited)

I live in such a beautiful place called Woodycape, in South Africa. My house is 5 minutes walk from a stunning beach part of the Alexandria Dune field. It is a protected area and you can see dolphins or whales in the ocean.

I did a photography work about the dunes, with many pictures of different views of this special area.

Nothing is more peaceful than watching the sun rising with the sound of the ocean as a background. The clouds made this sunset perfect and I think they add something to the pic.

Same morning than previous photography. Some dolphins came to great me. Unfortunately I didn't manage to have a better shot with this camera. Best time to see dolphins here is morning and end of afternoon but it is verypossible to see them during the day.

You can easily feel like being in the middle of a desert. From some spots we don't see the ocean and it increase the deserted and arid sensation.

Two views at different moment of the day. The big dune on the right far away is the Cape Woody which give the name Woodycape to the area.

At sunset time and with a lot of wind. I would have loved a tripod to make a nice effect with the sand blowing in a very slow speed. I love the golden colour at this moment.

The sun just disappear and in few minutes the beach will be dark.

In hope you enjoyed. If you go to South Africa you must visit this place. For me it is the most incredible beach I ever see.

Cheers!
