We didn't stay long in Zurich, but drove with a good Swiss friend in the farmer's village Pignia in the mountains, where he owns a beautiful house. I will definitely show you some great scenery pictures from there, but, suitable to my previous zoo articles, first you can admire some really nice insect and flower photos. One immediately notices the positive effect of a clean environment and good air on the stocks of the here still very numerous bees, bumblebees and butterflies (and thus also on the harvest yields).

I hope you enjoy the photos! :)

'western honey bees' (Apis mellifera) on a plant of the genus Echinacea. These plants are real 'insect magnets'.
/
'Honigbienen' (Apis mellifera) auf 'Sonnenhut' (Gattung Echinacea). Sonnenhüte sind wahre 'Insektenmagneten'.

Plant of the genus Gentiana with very beautiful blue flowers.
/
Wunderschön blau blühende Enzianart (Gattung Gentiana).

Also numerous wasps were bustling around these sweet tasting flowers.
/

Now some bumblebees.
/
Nun einige Hummeln.

The green color of the bug contrasts in a beautiful way with the yellow-black color of the flower.
/

The now shown insects are all flies which belong to the insect order Diptera.
/

The insects you see below aren't wasps but 'hoverflies' (family Syrphidae) which are completely harmless, but imitate the bright warning colors of stinging insects to be better protected from birds and other enemies without 'wasting' energy to produce own poison (a typical example of mimicry).
The name 'hoverflies' comes from their ability to stay at one place during flying (reminding at a helicopter).
/

Colorful butterfly 'small tortoiseshell' (Aglais urticae).
/
Farbenfroher Tagfalter der Sorte 'Kleiner Fuchs' (Aglais urticae).

At the end a beetle (Order Coleoptera).
/
Zum Schluss noch ein Käfer (Ordnung Coleoptera).

Lovely vibrant colors!
I also took a couple photos of bees. However, did you have the dilemma between getting closer to get a better picture and yet being scared the bee/wasp stings you, so also hesitant to get close to the bees/wasps?
I had that dilemma. Its quite daunting to take photos of those unpredictable insects, so good job there;)

As I fear Homo sapiens more than any bees or wasps I have no problem to get very closed to my beloved insects. :-) (Even if they would sting - so what? There are more dangerous things on earth ...)

Well true. They mean no harm unless they feel threatened. I live in Australia, and here lives the most dangerous lethal animals! Haha.

I love watching the bees in my garden. This week the bumblebees and honey bees are pollinating our tomatillos.

Nice to read that! :)

Ahh, Switzerland... my beautiful home country :)

:)

Beautiful photography jaki, thanks for sharing!

Wasps are very beautiful and unique Sir @jaki01, I have never seen this type of Wasps before, because my place different types of wasps as in your article. very interesting. Thanks for sharing to all of us Sir.

... but don't confuse the hoverflies with wasps (I wrote they aren't wasps). :) But OK, probably you mean the real wasps. Also on some of the wasps photos are also insects though which aren't wasps ...

Hehehe, I'm so sorry Sir @jaki01, because in your article I see here some pictures about wasps. Thank you for having responded to Sir. ;)

These are fascinating because they show the beautiful diversity in nature. All live in peace without discrimination.
This is better than humans.

Yes, humans are really bad - they even don't upvote nice articles like this one. :-)))
