If you know my betting articles (for example here, here, here and here), you can imagine that the soccer World Cup is a very busy time for me. Nevertheless I try not to let my Steemit activities rest completely...
I had already introduced it together with other exotic garden plants in one of my former articles, where, still snow-covered, it was completely wrapped in white. Now it's summer, and the resistant cactus delights the eye with numerous bright yellow flowers, which, although it is not one of the native plants here, are apparently still able to seduce a vaste number of insects. :) Enjoy watching the photos! |

Wer meine Wettartikel kennt (z. B. hier, hier, hier und hier), kann sich vorstellen, dass die Fußball-Weltmeisterschaft für mich eine ziemlich arbeitsreiche Zeit darstellt. Trotzdem versuche ich, meine Steemit-Aktivitäten nicht gänzlich ruhen zu lassen ...
Ich hatte ihn und andere exotische Gartenpflanzen bereits in einem meiner früheren Artikel vorgestellt, wo er sich noch schneebdeckt, ganz in Weiß gehüllt präsentierte. Nun ist es Sommer, und der widerstandfähige Kaktus erfreut das Auge mit zahlreichen strahlend gelben Blüten, die, obwohl er nicht zu den hier heimischen Pflanzen gehört, offenbar dennoch etliche Insekten zu verführen vermögen. :) Viel Spaß beim Betrachten der Bilder! |

Über die Schönheit und Vielfalt eures Gartens hast du ja jetzt schon viel geschrieben und gezeigt - und dennoch finde ich es immer wieder faszinierend.
Kakteen sind ja was das Blühen angeht schon so eine Sache für sich. Ich habe auch einen kleinen Kaktus (keine Ahnung was für einer, aber ich poste unten mal ein Bild). Vor drei Jahren hat er mal richtig toll geblüht, wie man sieht, aber die Blüten haben nur etwa einen Tag und eine Nacht gehalten, dann sind sie schon abgestorben. Gut, da sie größer als der Kaktus selbst waren, kann ich mir vorstellen, dass das schon sehr "anstrengend" für so ein kleines Kerlchen ist. :-)
Seither kam nichts mehr in der Richtung, aber er produziert fleißig Ableger, die (mangels Platz) wohl nur klein bleiben. Habe mich aber noch nicht ans Umtopfen getraut oder ans Abmachen des Nachwuchses...

Wir haben nur eine Physalis die wir überwintern müssen, ist bei uns aber auch etwas schwierig vom Platz und den Lichtverhältnissen. Exotische Pflanzen haben wir ansonsten keine aber ich habe vor ca. 2 Jahren einige Esskastanien gepflanzt, bin mal gespannt ob diese es in unserem Tal schaffen groß zu werden. Wir kennen einen Ort wo diese in unserer Region wachsen, leider sind das einige Kilometer bis dort hin und wenn sie es schaffen groß zu werden haben wir die Esskastanie quasi vor der Tür 😉

Herzlichen Dank für diese genialen Fotos! Es ist immer wieder faszinierend zusehen, wie du die Vielfalt der Botanik einfängst!

Einen Kaktus hier zum blühen zum bringen ist glaube ich nicht so leicht, nach dem kaufen aus dem Gewächshaus blühen ja welche noch aber danach wird es dann schwierig. Wie so viele Pflanzen, die aus dem Gewächshaus in das fremde leben auf dem Fenstersims und das kalte und wenig Lichtvolle Leben sich erst angewöhnen müssen.Ebenso erschrocken viele Leute, wenn sie die Pflanzen aus der Wohnung in die pralle Sonne setzten, und dann sich wundern wenn die Pflanzen braune Blätter bekommen und auch eingehen. Denn die Pflanzen sind nach einiger Zeit nicht mehr diese intensive Sonne gewöhnt, genau wie beim Menschen auch, da braucht es Zeit und erst mal Schatten um sich an das neue Klima ausserhalb aus den 4 Wänden angewöhnen. In der Wüste wird es nachts ja auch richtig kalt, habe ich gelernt.
Die Kakteen müssen also wohl auch Kälte abkönnen. Es scheint zu stimmen...
Die Nahaufnahmen sind Dir wieder bestens gelungen. Der Grüne Scheinbockkäfer ist wirklich klasse, aber die Wespe finde ich noch beeindruckender. Auch wenn mich diese Woche wieder eine Wespe während des Fahrradfahrens "grundlos" ins Bein gestochen hat. Schon das 3. mal seit 2011. Aber die "Biester" sehen besonders in der Nahaufnahme richtig respekteinflössend - aber eben auch auf diese Art und Weise auch toll aus.

Die meisten Kakteen haben keine Chance, einen deutschen Winter zu überleben. Die hier gezeigte, speziell winterharte Art kann frostige Temperaturen überstehen, indem sie durch Verdunsten so viel Wasser abgibt, dass nur noch eine konzentrierte, stark zuckerhaltige Flüssigkeit übrig bleibt, die nicht gefrieren (und damit die Zellen schädigen) kann.
Mir gefallen Wespen - und besonders Hornissen - auch sehr.

das mache viele - es sei euch gegönnt - ich mag open source aber..... da muss man sich auskennen und Zeit / Lust haben - als einfacher User nee danke. I want to say one thing that no matter what the greatest art will be the nature because nature have so many unique creations which can really surprise us and same way can heal us with the beauty of the creations. And many people get the needed inspiration from the nature for sure.
I have small garden and growing some random flowers and i really like to admire their beauty because for me flowers always reflects as nature's smile and in my opinion flowers can give breathtaking essence to anyone and if we want to get the true healing then in my opinion we should explore the beauty of flowers deeply.
People who lives close to the nature they know the real value and real beauty of nature. And we all know that whenever we explore the beauty of nature then that gives nature's greatest essence and that's why people try to explore the natural places when they get the opportunity because they get true peace.
Whatever pictures you've shared that are literally reflecting as gems which are created by the creator of nature and one thing we can clearly see here and that is the greatest relationship between nature and its creatures.

Ich bin immer froh, wenn ich schöne / interessante / hilfreich-sinnvolle Artikel von mir noch unbekannten Verfassern finde. Leider fehlt mir, obwohl ich mir alle Mühe gebe, manchmal die Zeit zum aktiven Suchen, so dass ich oft entweder nur durch Zufall auf neue Autoren stoße oder sie sogar komplett übersehe.

Why do you think these beetles would harm the cactus flower? Did you observe them eating from it? :)
Actually, most insects which are damaging plants aren't within the flowers, but instead of that stick their proboscis into leaves or stems to suck some juice.
Most dangerous for flowering plants are we humans, who often prefer single-crop farming (for example for earning as much as possible crop or palm oil), where we try to protect our plants with very poisonous pesticides which are killing bees and bumblebees. These insects are then are missing when it comes to the pollination of flowers.
Many house owners also prefer 'sterile', boring gardens with no or only very few blooming plants.

I still can't agree that you call bees and bumblebees "pests". Without these kind of insects we simply wouldn't be able to grow fruit-bearing trees!
Read - for example - here or here.
In parts of China humans have to pollinate flowers manually because of a lack of bees (as a consequence of all our poisonous insecticides)!
If you make a post about it, I wonder if you really can describe my words in the exact same way I mean them. I think you should first seek various articles about bees, bumblebees, flies and beetles as pollinators of our flowers to get some broader knowledge concerning that topic.

Sorry, but this cactus has to survive by its own in our garden and won't get any special treatment (we just tried to give it an appropriate sandy and stony soil). :)
So far as a perennial cactus it is doing well. Not the cold but very long humid periods could cause problems though.
