Taking a break near the Imperial Palace, Tokyo, 🇯🇵

This is one of our most beloved picture of Japan, ever. It may seem strange at first ; I agree. We love it so much in fact, my wife and I, that we had it printed on a canvas. Very often, we had people commenting on the beautiful painting we bought, only to be surprised after taking a closer look. 😯
There is just something that feels good about that view: the cherry trees of course, the colors, but also people taking a break, enjoying the view, taking pictures... Or maybe, since it was windy, is it because it looks like the leafs are just passing by and will be gone the moment you take your eyes away from them? I don't know, maybe it's just me and I like telling myself stories and there is nothing that interesting about it. 🤔

As for the context, it was taken mid-April 2014, near the Imperial Palace in Tokyo. It was our second day in the metropolis and we had already walked quite a few kilometers that day since we had visited the Tsukiji Market. early in the morning. The place was just perfect to take a break at before taking a tour of the Imperial Gardens.
It's pretty easy to get to this place: just get out of the Tokyo Station by the West Exit, and walk straight towards the Palace. Just a few hundred meters and you'll recognize it.

My next lengthier piece is taking shape but I decided to write it both in French and English, and have both languages in the same post. So, it's taking a bit longer than expected, but I am also taking my time. The last few days just show me that it's better to take it slowly and improve as much as possible before delivering it. (what NOT a surprise right?)
