On the East Coast of Barbados!

The East Coast is my favourite. Pure rugged nature.

The area is somewhat protected, as far as I know you cannot turn up and build condos or resorts — and that's the way it needs to stay. There are a few beach houses along the coast, and some villages as well.

Develop the rest of the island, but leave my beautiful East Coast as it is...

Taken yesterday on iPhone 5s.

FML. You should see my grey neighbourhood compared to this. Damn dude! Stunning pics.

:-) - recently someone told me Barbados is a giant sugar cane plantation - this looks rather pristine however :D

lol well, there's lots of sugar cane around.

Damn, look at that place. Like a private beach. Freakin paradise.

There are beach / vacation houses owned usually by wealthy locals and rented out by middle class locals during different parts of the year... but there are never lots of people out there... If you ever see 20 on the beach that's a lot. It's a looooong stretch of beach, with very rough waters not really conducive to swimming. But surfers like it, and there are natural rock pools in the reef that you can wade in at low tide. My favourite place on earth :)

Do you surf?

Nope! I've tried it once or twice but never kept it up.

Same here. I was a skateboard kid. Sometimes I wonder why I never learned. Heh, maybe next summer.

Gorgeous photos! Following!

Nice, crisp, vivid shots! Glad the idiotic money hungry construction companies left it alone!

Excellent work @jamtaylor! You have a new follower, now :-) Best regards from Canary Islands

"The area is somewhat protected, as far as I know you cannot turn up and build condos or resorts — and that's the way it needs to stay". Great to hear this!!!

Beautiful! Our local beach is covered in seaweed. The iphone takes very crisp images. I just bought an Oppo, but I'm not happy with the camera. Too wide an angle and colors are off. Back to my trusty DSLR!
