BREAKING DOWN A PANORAMA INTO PARTS

in photography •  7 years ago

Let's break down this crazy large panorama I did and show a few of the picture opportunities in the shot. It was a great view from up in around Canyonlands but the real star were these clouds that were making cool formations and lit up really nicely along the horizon. It was all pretty far away and I was using the 135mm sigma.

THE WHOLE THANG
Pretty much the only use for such a large panorama is some sort of huge wall print... that doesn't happen too often but if and when someone needs a 20ft by 4ft panorama me and my 247mp 5:1 ratio panorama is ready for them.

You almost have to view the 4k version

ONE FRAME
This is just a straight pull of one of the snaps from the panorama... I actually was first just gonna grab portions like this... but decided doing a panorama was easy enough to do while I was at it.

JUST THE SKIES
And perhaps my favorite with a little smaller crop to get just the skies. Keep in mind this small crop is still about 30MP Large
The main interest was the clouds anyway!

Great frame! I like all of them :)

Wow, that's some length, most impressive!!

Amazing light @jarvie!!

Yeah even though it was only a small portion of the sky that was lit up that way it was nice to get a zoom and focus on it.

Interesting way to encourage people to take more high quality panoramas... You never know what your photos can look like until you see them in post, and the more photo you have to work with, the more likely you are to get a satisfactory result :)
Thanks for sharing!

WOAH! What awesome clouds, color and pano! I would use this as a wallpaper on all my walls. Though I don't think I would be able to sleep, but it would look pretty cool.

Alright... sounds like a plan to me!! ;)

Wow. Very good frame. Very good timing and colors..

This is crazy large! It must look amazing in real. Fantastic how the clouds are changing and turning into rain...
I dont know why I didnt Follow Your blog before, my mistake fixed ;). Have a good day!

Haha yeah sometimes we see people in the feed or on certain categories or in the @photogames enough that we just assume we're following them. Thanks
