DIY Photography Reflector / Eye Lighter

in photography •  7 years ago  (edited)

I have been interested in trying to get something like this for quite some time now and then I realized that I had an old softbox that i didn't have a light for!!! This turned out better than i ever thought it would when i started! I had looked at 'Eye Lighters' online and they run around $300 and just look flimsy... I made this out of things i just had laying around!!!!

I started by cutting one seam on the softbox to open it up!

After that I took this foam board insulation that we had extra of and cut it to the basic shape of the soft box!

Once cut to shape, I stapled the soft box to the foam board and put some gorilla glue in different places to make sure it stays!

Here we have the final product!!! A perfectly effective reflector that didn't cost an arm and a leg!!!

I think this reflector is really going to work great and it weighs just over 1.5 pounds so it's perfect to throw in the car for photoshoots on the go!!!!
