A lot of people get creeped out by cemeteries, but I find them peaceful and relaxing. Also, you can learn a lot from cemeteries. Not only can you learn about some of the more prominent historians buried in your area, but you can also see some of the beauty from the cemetery.
I live near Lexington, KY and the Lexington Cemetery is on the National Historic Registry. It is absolutely gorgeous. They have pamphlets of some of the Civil War soldiers who contributed the most as well as some of the more prominent women who are buried there who did wonders for the medical profession. The thing I like most about it, some of the monuments.
Across the street is Calvary Cemetery, a small Catholic Cemetery, which has this one monument and is encircled by priests. Again, breathtaking.
Any other photographers out there that enjoy taking photographs from cemeteries? If so, leave a comment with a favorite photo or two!
