Yesterday was a day to honor survivors and also lead as a reminder of one of the most tragic events in our history.
As you know, the Holocaust occurred during World War II, a plan to rid all of Europe, and the world, of Jews and those the Nazi Regime did not deem worthy of life. Over six million Jews and over 11 million people were killed in these camps and by firing squads.
Treblinka. Sobibór. Belzec. Chelmno. Auschwitz. Majdanek. Sadly, these aren't even all the camps that were used as either slave labor camps, torture camps and extermination camps.
Late last year I had the chance to go to the Holocaust Museum in St. Petersburg, FL. I've attached photos that were taken at the museum. May we never forget the atrocities so we may avoid ever having something like happen again.
Also at the museum was artwork by Samuel Bak, a holocaust survivor and now world-renowned artist.
history is a lesson for now and to come. do not forget history

A few years ago I had the opportunity to film a Holocaust remembrance video for a local school, and I had the chance to interview Holocaust survivors. Hearing it from those who witnessed it first hand was an experience I'll never forget.
