Dyson is a Dugong!.......he is also a sea floor vacuum cleaner :-)

Wildlife Photographer of the Year finalist

Meet Dyson.....

Dyson is a Egyptian Dugong!!!

Dyson lives in a sheltered bay along the Egyptian coast.......

where he vigorously feeds .....sucking up sea-grass all day...... as its principal food source!

it moves itself along the ocean floor on its flippers......

rather than its whale-like tail,.....which it uses for swimming.

According to Douglas..... local dive operators .....

have given this particular individual the nickname Dyson.....

on account of his powerful sea-grass vacuuming technique!

What a funny creature :-)

yea...you wouldnt wanna get your hands anywhere near that mouth......

when he is happily vacuuming that sea grass!!!

the Egyptian version of a Florida manatee?

anyway...

enjoy!

ohh man steem cleaners killed itt

What? I cannot see the picture o no!!

My understanding is that dugongs are not as rare as commonly believed. They are more elusive than they are rare and in general people seldom know where to look to find them (usually looking for them on or around coral reefs which they do NOT normally inhabit by the way!).

Haha nice photo :)
