Another Sunset / Ein weiterer Sonnenuntergang

in photography •  5 years ago  (edited)

Today I only have a short post because I'm out in the afternoon and I do not know if I'll be back in time in the evening.

Ich habe heute nur einen kurzen Beitrag, weil ich am Nachmittag unterwegs bin und nicht weiß, ob ich rechtzeitig am Abend zurück sein werde.

Sunset / Sonnenuntergang

From Diex (Wikipedia links to Diex after the photos) I have posted a few sunset photos a short time ago. This time I took my new M10 filter system from Haida and tested the gray gradient filter for the quite bright sky.

Actually, I'm pretty happy with my first attempts.
Haida has implemented a completely new concept with the filter system M10 by adding the filters in drop-in version.

I have to "play" a lot with the system in the next few weeks, and maybe one day I'll take some beautiful pictures like @tattoodjay did yesterday: A nice sunrise. He also used his new M10 system for the photo.

Very beautiful! This lens can see things our eyes cannot puck out in details! Awesome lens!

Good morning @kaminchan :)
Thank you very much for your nice comment, and you're right, the lens is really good. The sunset was so vey colorful, and I was glad that I have had come there to make my first real tests with the new filter system.

I think they came out very nicely. I used to have graduated ND filters in the early 2000s when I was shooting on 35 mm film. I only recently bought a digital SLR camera and got back into photography. I want to eventually buy some filters for it.

Thank you @saboin 😊
In the early 2000s I have had a filter system too - a Cokin system, but only for special effects like color toning or dreamy photo effects.
Have a look at the Haida system. I like it a lot, especially this new M10, and I think, it is worth the price, which is cheaper than a Lee or a Nisi filter system.

Thanks! I’ll definitely check it out. I had both a Cokin system and individual filters that screw onto the end of the lens. I shot slides, so I had to do colour correction while shooting. With digital, that’s not really necessary.

You're welcome, Saboin :)
Until last week I have had screw-on filters (CPL - Circular Polarizers and ND filters from ND8 to ND1000), but especially when you have a bright sky and a darker foreground you might need a gradient ND filter. This is the main reason, why I switched from screw-on filters to such a system.
To be honest, I do not really care about the white balance when I'm shooting, because with digital photography it's not really neccessary, as you say ;)

This sunset is very beautiful! The colors and the composition are amazing)

Thank you so very much for your nice comment, @gritata.

The sunset was in reality even more beautiful.
The camera has captured only this view, but around me the clouds were partially beautifully colored deep pink. The whole sky was full of orange and pink colors.
Unfortunately, I did not photograph the other views, because there was a street, houses and electricity pylons with power lines, which I did not like.

Looks really good!

Whenever I have been up there in the evenings, the sunsets were great. This time I have had the luck to see a cloudy sky, and next time the sky will be nearly cloudless and smooth again.
Thank you so much, Ross :)

You're welcome!

😊 Have a nice day 😊

You Too! Thanks

Mir gefallen beide Aufnahmen sehr gut. Die erste strahlt aber noch einen ticken mehr Harmonie aus!

Ich danke dir sehr, @faltermann, und ich stimme mit völlig überein - mir gefällt das erste Bild auch viel besser.

You just planted 0.09 tree(s)!

I thank you very much, @treeplanter 😊

I think your shots using the filter are as goos as if not better than mine my friend those are awesome

Thank you so much JJ, but if I could decide, then your shot would win!

The gradient filter is quite useful, when the sky is still bright, and you want the foreground to be not too dark, but as I said, I will have to play a lot with the filters in the next days, weeks and months ;)

Well you have many of them to play with now I am wishing I had gone for the masters kit to have more options but these three I have will meet most of my needs I am sure and have fun trying them out I to am looking forward to doing more with them

I think, unless I make such long exposure like yours, if I can find such a long pier ;) I will more need the gradient filters for the bright skies, but let's play with the filters and see :)))

Having Ng them gives you lots of options 😎👍😎

Yes, and I love the CPL - it is so easy now to adjust it. The screw-on CPL was not easy to turn, and most of the time I forgot about it. Not I have this system on the camera and because of that I cannot forget the CPL :)

I do like the design of it I havent used it much yet but I can see me using it a lot

Yes, the design of it is great, and completely different from the competitors. I wonder, what they will bring next.

Howdy sir johannpiber! What's this? I thought you were going to stop doing fluff pieces and get serious about your posts? lol..no this is gorgeous. Stunning actually, the contrast in colors with so many colors is a thing of beauty!

Seriously? I should become a serious person, doing serious posts? No way! You must be joking, my friend :))) lol

Good morning and thank you so much, my friend, I have really been missing your kind comments ;) I think, if the Steem goes up in price, I will buy a few snake-proof sheep for you. Then you don't need to spend so much time mowing your property, and have more time for posting and commenting ;)

Have a good night and a great day ahead 😊

lol! Snake-proof sheep! Those sound expensive but I think they would be worth it. lol.

No, not so expensive, because they only get high rubber boots so they can walk around safely ;) lol

lol...that paints quite a picture sir johannpiber!

Good evening @janton :)
White sheep with pink rubber boots, that's what I can imagine. I think, when the snakes see these sheep on your lawn, your snake problem will be gone forever ;)

lol! That would drive anything away! Yes livestock is very good for keeping snakes away because they don't want to get trampled.

OK, @janton, let's hope the Steem reaches a high price, that you will get your sheep from me - that's a promise :)
