I love long exposure photography.
The most important composition element associated with long exposure photography is "simplicity"
Here is an example that shows how a long exposure simplify the scene.
For this photograph, I used a stack of a 10 stop and a 3 stop ND filter.
Exposure time 240 seconds.

Thank you, yes I find often that a 10 stop filter is not enough to get the simplicity I am looking for. Sometimes I go as much as 18 stops light reduction in a bright daytime photo. In this case 13 stops was just what I liked.
