No sería la primera vez, que, en ellas, se reunían los alquimistas y los estudiosos de lo esotérico, tal y como sucedía, por ejemplo, en la catedral parisina de Notre Dame, buscando, en las alusiones, tanto alquímicas como astrológicas, de unas fascinantes esculturas, que, según el misterioso autor, Fulcanelli, estaban repletas de significados argóticos, las claves para la consecución de la Gran Obra. Claves, de las que se podría decir, que éste curioso personaje -que, además, los pintores góticos solían representar vadeando un río, con una fascinante variedad de simbología, incluidos personajes de la mistérica baraja del Tarot, como el Ermitaño- porta, en la fuerza latina de su nombre, Christophoros, hábilmente disimulada, parte de ese mensaje subterráneo y exclusivo para iniciados, porque, como ocurría con Cervantes y su inmortal personaje, Don Quijote de la Mancha, objetividad y subjetividad se daban cita. De manera que, además de poder traducirse como Portador de Cristo, también puede hacerse como Portador del Oro.
