I never saw that when I went to Amsterdam. I wish I had ... a piece of architectural whimsy. I guess I never made it out of the more touristy parts. Although I did go to some smaller towns outside of Amsterdam and enjoy more day to day. Leiden was one of my favourite places. it really sticks with me:)

I love Leiden too! When you arrive by train and go ahead the centre there's a windmill. And finally, you reach the centre, it's amazing with the canal... Beautiful place. I've been there several times, it's amazing, I took a lot of photos.
But I like Amsterdam too, I think it's the Oude Kirk in the middle of the photo.
