I don't know much about the gar fish, but I've always found them fascinating. They look somewhat fierce and also have a prehistoric vibe about them, and well I always enjoy seeing long and big fishes. The pictures below are quite interesting, not just because of the lovely gar fish happily swimming about in the water, but one can see the turtle doing some curious maneuver in the background too.
There are so many interesting varieties of fish present in nature, and gar happen to be one of them. There are several kinds of famous gars like the alligator gar, long-nose gar and there's even a spotted gar.

You are right that type of fish looks really different to normal one we used to see, the shape of head is elongated and thinner then its tail. I understand what you mean with turtle, seems like trying to climb up on the shore, had enough of swimming :)

Wow that’s awesome :) I love fish. I used to have pretty good knowledge of tropical fresh water fish as me and my friends had a big tank and really enjoyed looking after them! I also love snorkelling with all of the fish and seeing the amazing underwater world :)
