Picture Stories #328 - Hill Station

in photography •  6 years ago  (edited)

It's fun to go to hill stations, not only because the climate there is cooler than what I'm used to here in the city (it always seems to be hot and sunny in the urban jungle where I live), but I also get to see interesting sights and experience a lot more greenery than what I'd encounter on a usual day. So, the below pictures were taken on a pleasant and foggy day, and as you must have noticed there's a special guest making his presence felt in the wooded environment.

Hill stations like Kodaikanal and Ooty are know for their beautiful forests and dense expanse of trees, and I really love the atmosphere when it gets foggy and cold. Since it was foggy, at first I almost missed seeing the monkey sitting atop the tree!

Thank you for reading!

Lol I wasn't sure if it was fog or smog, but happy it is fog. I also lover cooler climates getting away from the humidity and the heat. City life is fine . but we all need to get out every now and then.

haha yeah, the pollution these days!! i'm not much of a fan of cold but for short stays and getaways the cold climate is preferred...

Yes 'hill stations' are great :). I knew you'd most likely be talking about the sub-continent when I saw that word in the title. I spent a lot of my childhood in a hill station - in N. India though, not far from Shimla. There were plenty of monkeys (Rhesus and Langurs) around although sadly the school didn't consider them 'guests' and so there was always an 'us' and 'them' mentality. I guess you know how badly animals are often treated in India :(.

Oh it's great to know you've spent time in India. Yes it's a bit sad but conditions are improving :) Nice view, most of the hill stations in India are worth visiting at least once.

First 18 years of my life :), around 8 of them in the hills. Lots of memories.

Hi Sir @jznsamuel.... It's so nice to see a monkey again! I still remember your earlier blogs about these naughty, tiny animals!
BTW... the pics of this hill station are just awesome!!
Here in Mangalore it's burning hot and humid...
