Flamingos happen to be one of my favorite birds to look at, having a interesting appearance with their slender legs, crooked beaks and mostly pink feathers covering their bodies. I witnessed a bunch of them at a zoo, from a safe distance away and we also had a feeding session where the visitors could purchase and give the flamingos some special meal prepared by the zoo. I had a nice time watching and photographing these birds.
I learnt that flamingos acquire the pink color in their feathers from the pigment in the food they consume. If they don't get this pigment, their may lose their pink color
It's nice to see that the flamingos looked happy and cared for in the zoo!

I love flamingos, they are so gracious and that beautiful color makes them unique. There are quite many of them in zoo, I am wondering, normally then can fly good, why they are not flying away from zoo?
