A young trainee monk sits in a window at the temple in Angkor Wot, Cambodia
"I loved the contrast of the youth and vibrancy of the trainee monk against the backdrop of this ancient temple that has sat here for centuries and seen the rise and fall of empires"

I thought I had posted this here before, but I don't seem to have. Looking back at 2018, this trip was a memorable one for many reasons. We travelled around the temple complex, the stones were cool in contrast to the scorching sun light. Steps worn away by footsteps of ancient peoples and tourists. I thought of the people that one day walked amongst these imposing structures, now they look like they were always here.
I wondered what the person who dreamt of it must have thought; did the scale of their ambition scare them?; did they always believe it will be completed in their life time if at all or would their empire collapse before they would see it completed? Did they even believe in the Gods they built this to praise or were they astute enough to realise the power it brings to have a God on your side in the eyes of your people?
Today, young children walk these same corridors in the robes that mark them out as taking lessons in this ancient religion.
every photo carry lots of meaning. i also impressed your photography. anyway thanks to share your valuable content to this photography related.

Yes, it is a nice picture. And as you said nice contrast.
So many questions. I guess we will never know the answers.
You must have enjoyed the visit. I haven't had a chance to go and have a look. Maybe one day.

Shows how important it is to build on solid foundations! I feel thatbis what we are doing here in the ecosystem as well.

One day, we will train our next generation, I hope they will look back at the work we did and think well of us.
As @therealwolf once said, we are the third generation of steemians, I look forward to seeing new people join. Projects like @share2steem which make it super simple to create an account and post instantly from twitter or instagram gives me great hope
